The estate

The Pala Ubud is a private estate at Pejeng, fifteen minutes from the centre of Ubud, where sixteen bedrooms are divided between six villas beside the Petanu River and its rice paddies. It was designed around shinrin yoku, the Japanese practice of forest bathing, and custom-built for events rather than adapted to them later. Villa Agung's five-bedroom pavilion and its expansive lawn make the main reception space, seating 100 or holding 150 standing. Vows are exchanged on that lawn, on the rooftop of Villa Sanghyang or down at the river, and dinner can move to Hura Hura, the restaurant on the estate, which makes this one of the larger private addresses in the Ubud hills. Rates start from IDR 19,305,698. Event fees and a community banjar fee apply, the estate requires that an event space be booked alongside the bedrooms, and a minimum stay and a curfew govern the dates and the hours. Catering follows the estate's own rule and is quoted on its own, as are flowers, sound and a planner, with wet weather agreed in advance.

- Event fees are charged per venue space (net, incl. 15.5% tax and service): Villa Agung USD 500 (up to 50 guests), USD 800 (up to 100) or USD 1,200 (up to 150); Villa Sanghyang USD 300 (up to 50); the Hura restaurant USD 500 (up to 50) or USD 800 (up to 100); and the riverside lawn USD 840 (up to 50) - on top of the villa accommodation.
- Event venue requirement
- Villa Agung or Villa Sanghyang may be booked individually for up to 50 guests; celebrations of up to 100 guests require a minimum booking of Villa Agung, Batur and Catur.
- Community (banjar) fee
- IDR 5,500,000 for up to 50 guests, IDR 7,500,000 up to 100, and IDR 8,500,000 up to 200.
- Minimum stay & curfew
- A two-night minimum stay applies and all loud music ends at 11 PM.
- Catering & weather
- Outside caterers may not use the villa kitchen or bar; fireworks, balloons and sky lanterns are not permitted; a marquee is compulsory on rainy days as there is no indoor wet-weather alternative.
- What is quoted separately
