The Edge wedding cost at a glance
The Edge sits at the top of the Uluwatu cliffs, 162 metres above the Indian Ocean — a private resort of eight villas and seventeen bedrooms. Its 2027 weddings are five complete packages: the ceremony at The Villa, the reception at The Villa or The Venue, the stay, florals, cake, dinner and four hours of drinks.
All five 2027 packages include government tax and service. Each guest beyond a package's count is IDR 2,000,000 plus tax and service; the beverage upgrades are per person, plus 11% government tax and 10% service.

The rules that cost money
- Package prices include tax. The 2027 wedding package prices include government tax and service charge.
- Additional guests. IDR 2,000,000++ a person beyond the package's guest count.
- Weekdays only. The Intimate Wedding and The Nearest & Dearest Wedding are for weekday weddings only.
- The One. A minimum stay of two nights applies at The One.
- Corkage. Wine IDR 300,000++, Champagne IDR 400,000++, spirits and liqueurs IDR 500,000++ a bottle. Alcohol brought in must come from a licensed supplier with the correct tax and customs stamps.
- The florals. Package florals are 40% fresh and 60% artificial flowers, with six flower-arch designs, three aisle styles, white, champagne or natural tiffany chairs, and fairy lights or white lanterns for the reception.
When to marry at The Edge
April to October, with July and August the most reliable. Sunset falls between about 6:05 and 6:50 pm year-round — earliest in May and June, latest in January and February — and the whole day is built backwards from it. Because Bali lies just south of the equator, the sun sets within the same hour all year: at Uluwatu, at about 6:05 pm at its earliest (May and June) and 6:45 pm at its latest (January and February).
Twelve months for a peak-season Saturday. Uluwatu's cliff-edge chapels and lawns are the most requested in Indonesia.

Dry, clear and not yet at peak crowd or peak rate. Our most-recommended window for an open-air ceremony in Bali.

Sunsets are calculated for the 15th of each month (local clock, summer time where it applies) and move a few minutes either side across the month. Golden-hour vows start about an hour and a quarter before sunset.
Marrying legally in Indonesia
- Indonesian law recognises religious marriage only. There is no civil marriage in Indonesia. A legal wedding requires both partners to share one of the six state-recognised religions — Islam, Protestantism, Catholicism, Hinduism, Buddhism or Confucianism — and to marry under its rites, with the marriage then registered at the civil registry office.
- Which is why most international couples marry symbolically. A symbolic ceremony at the villa or resort — celebrant, vows, rings, sand or water ritual — is the standard choice and is what nearly every Bali wedding photograph you have seen actually is. The legal marriage happens at home, before or after.
Getting to The Edge
- Airport. Bali Ngurah Rai (DPS) — about 45–75 minutes to the Bukit clifftops
- The peninsula. Uluwatu sits on the Bukit, south of the airport. Getting there avoids the island's worst northbound traffic
- Between venues. Clifftop estates are 10–30 minutes apart along the coast road
- Worth planning. Wind. The cliffs are exposed — it affects florals, drapery, hair and where a ceremony can physically sit
How to keep a The Edge wedding in budget
- Marry midweek for the two smaller packages. The Intimate (IDR 74,000,000) and Nearest & Dearest (IDR 152,000,000) weddings are weekday-only.
- Know what the flowers are. Package florals are 40% fresh — budget an upgrade if you want an all-fresh arch.
- Choose the drinks by hours. The packages include four hours of drinks; the upgrades are priced for 2, 3 or 6 hours.
- Bring wine with its stamps. Corkage applies, and bottles must carry tax and customs stamps from a licensed supplier.
