Alila Uluwatu is a design-led clifftop resort on the Bukit peninsula. It sells weddings as complete packages — a ceremony at the Cliff Edge Cabana or a villa lawn, a reception dinner and a two-night stay — for 20 to 150 guests, and the whole resort for celebrations above 200.
Every Alila package is net, inclusive of 21% tax and service, and the rates are valid for bookings made through 31 December 2026. Guests beyond a package's count are IDR 2,200,000 net each, up to a limit set by each package.

The rules that cost money
- Rate basis. All packages are net, inclusive of 21% tax and service, valid for bookings made through 31 December 2026. Guests beyond the agreed numbers are IDR 2,200,000 net per person.
- Deposit and payment. A non-refundable first deposit of 50% of the confirmed package holds the date, within 48 hours of confirmation; the balance is due 30 days before the event.
- Cancellation. Less than 180 days before the event: 50% of the estimated total (or the deposit); less than 120 days: 75%; less than 90 days: 100%.
- The buy-out. The whole resort for two 24-hour periods is mandatory above 200 guests, up to 400. Decoration, certificates, celebrant or MC and the sound system are not included in it; menus are customised.
When to marry at Alila Uluwatu
April to October, with July and August the most reliable. Sunset falls between about 6:05 and 6:50 pm year-round — earliest in May and June, latest in January and February — and the whole day is built backwards from it. Because Bali lies just south of the equator, the sun sets within the same hour all year: at Pecatu, Uluwatu, at about 6:05 pm at its earliest (May and June) and 6:45 pm at its latest (January and February).
Twelve months for a peak-season Saturday. Uluwatu's cliff-edge chapels and lawns are the most requested in Indonesia.

Sunsets are calculated for the 15th of each month (local clock, summer time where it applies) and move a few minutes either side across the month. Golden-hour vows start about an hour and a quarter before sunset.
Marrying legally in Indonesia
- Indonesian law recognises religious marriage only. There is no civil marriage in Indonesia. A legal wedding requires both partners to share one of the six state-recognised religions — Islam, Protestantism, Catholicism, Hinduism, Buddhism or Confucianism — and to marry under its rites, with the marriage then registered at the civil registry office.
- Which is why most international couples marry symbolically. A symbolic ceremony at the villa or resort — celebrant, vows, rings, sand or water ritual — is the standard choice and is what nearly every Bali wedding photograph you have seen actually is. The legal marriage happens at home, before or after.
Getting to Alila Uluwatu
- Airport. Bali Ngurah Rai (DPS) — about 45–75 minutes to the Bukit clifftops
- The peninsula. Uluwatu sits on the Bukit, south of the airport. Getting there avoids the island's worst northbound traffic
- Between venues. Clifftop estates are 10–30 minutes apart along the coast road
- Worth planning. Wind. The cliffs are exposed — it affects florals, drapery, hair and where a ceremony can physically sit
How to keep a Alila Uluwatu wedding in budget
- Use the extra-guest allowance. Forty guests fit the Cliff Edge Wedding with its 20 extra guests — IDR 223,999,999, against IDR 475,999,999 for the 50-guest package.
- Book before the end of 2026. These rates are valid for bookings made through 31 December 2026.
- Know the cancellation ladder. The 50% deposit is non-refundable, and the charge rises at 180, 120 and 90 days.
- Above 200, it is the whole resort. The buy-out (IDR 4,399,999,999) is mandatory above 200 guests.
